Would love a sip of this and a patio like that!!! Read an article on the Koloa Rum company a while back in Hana Hou and just loved the idea of a 100% Hawaiian made liquor. But the label alone brings me back, for some reason, to vintage photos of Robert Louis Stevenson and Earnest Hemingway rocking on the lanais of the Royal Hawaiian and Moana…(even if they weren’t!)

Tropical Cottage in the Woods

So excited to start this very small but very unique project here in Manoa. The homeowner has already given the shell of the space a gorgeous face-lift, now it’s just adding in punches of color and some accessories. Today we got off to a great start! Want to add in some old vintage bamboo arm chairs chairs (take out the armless one that’s there) and have the cushions covered in a fun print (maybe the Dot?), do flat roman shades in the stripe (love this stripe!), a pillow or two in the vintage “lido” fabric…vintage prints of Hawaii from the Bishop museum, eventually switch out the counter stools to some kind of french metal style…this should be fun!
