Thought these were some great images from John Granen’s site. Love the rustic feel, the vintage blues and greens…the worn, soft Asian influence in the last image. And that old rusted chair with the plant in it! And i know we all love blues and greens together, but the teal on that shuttered door, mixed with the green on the stoop and in the ferns is just so invigorating!

I remember seeing slides of this in my art history class (which i loved) way back when. I was lucky to have had a professor who was so in love with ancient Asian art. Somehow i came across it browsing through the MET’s amazing online catalog and once again was swept away. These paintings are just so architectural, so precise and linear yet so soft and peaceful…
