I know this is an old image from Coastal Living but we’re just on the verge of starting a fun, small condo project where the client wants light, airy and beachy. I guess i have this feel on my mind…
On another side note, we’re EXTENDING the GIVEAWAY since it seems just now people are starting to notice. We’ll select a winner next Thursday October 8th, same time, 6pm (HST) so be sure to tell your friends and family to check out the post! This may not seem to have much to do with interior design particularly, but the extreme innate beauty of the natural environment certainly does. We all in some form or another draw inspiration from it in so many different ways. Smithsonian Magazine had a great story this month about the history of shells and how valuable they once were, like gold. People thought they were so exotic and as lethal and mysterious as the infamous goddesses of Greek mythology. They are absolutely miracles of nature, so intricate and perfectly symmetrical… I’ve only seen some of the most basic shells, but i can’t even begin to image what beauty and inspiration the more rare and ancient ones hold.

I also enjoyed the short story about sea glass, and loved these images…

In celebration of the 60th anniversary of the iconic childhood board game (and an old fav!), Candy Land, i have this post for you!

I know this is quite an abstract take on the relationship to the game, but for some reason i linked the two together when i first saw this! Slightly more grown up…but still so fun! Fitting my favorite board game for a time was probably the most colorful on the planet!

Kind of enjoying the more unusual color palette of the new Coastal Living Idea Cottage…what do you think? These aren’t the typical beachy colors, which i kind of admire, seems slightly more soulful than past Idea homes. There’s kind of an eclectic/bohemian vibe to it, yet still simple and kind of fresh and still fairly light. I was pleasantly surprised…
